Aerospace logistics
For more than a decade, KWE in South Africa has become an acclaimed business partner within the aerospace logistics industry, based on our global integrated supply chain managed service.
Our operating hours literally runs 7 days a week. Every day and every hour. At our SAAT warehouse facilities, KWE receives and issues 50 000 spares per month to Engineering Maintenance Divisions of South African Airways as well as alternate carriers. We also provide line support services to the major maintenance divisions for their Airline C + D check programs, manage the Aircraft on Ground (AOG) spares, provides aero engines movement both inbound and outbound, control the required aviation tires on a Vendor Managed Inventory (V.M.I), mostly based on a Just-in-time (JIT) methodology.
Another value added service provision includes freight forwarding and customs clearance where the Unified Information Management Portal developed by KWE has proved to be a most innovative service. In particular, this ensures a Supply Chain Visibility and Supply Chain Events Management which is of meaningful significance to the Carriers.
KWE furthermore provides a Supply Chain Managed Dry Goods Catering Logistics service to the airline which includes: forecasting of all inventory requirements, providing order call-off from strategic suppliers and arranging inventory replenishment transfer on a Just-In-Time fulfillment process to all localities served by the National Carrier globally, regionally and locally.
Specialized Healthcare Logistics
In recent years, we have been increasing our handling of medical equipment and instruments, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and related fields. We have obtained licences necessary for handling these type of merchandise and provide storage, labeling, wrapping and other services primarily for products imported from overseas. And we have created a very solid framework for this business, including KWE's own system of product tracing.
